Food was ok. Nothing special. The veg gyoza were very good. Light and tasty. The service was confusing. We weren’t asked about options. The server assumed we’d want what everyone gets. She also got our order wrong. Instead of bringing the new dish they swapped out the wrong element with the correct one. Not a great experience.

Not a great lunch. The apps were ok, the karaage is not Japanese style, but just standard fried chicken pieces and overcooked. This is also not Japanese ramen. The noodles are more like overcooked angel hair pasta rather than the chewy ramen that it should be. The tonkatsu broth also lacked real flavor. Service was friendly but really slow.

I had a wonderful experience at Shokudo Ramen & Sushi! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and tasteful Japanese-inspired decor. The seating is well-arranged, offering a nice sense of privacy while still feeling open and comfortable. I ordered the seafood ramen, and it exceeded my expectations. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful – including shrimp, crab sticks, seaweed, fish cakes, and mushrooms. Every bite was delicious! The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient. The service was smooth from start to finish, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant is conveniently located on NJ-17 in Paramus, with easy parking. Prices are reasonable ($20–$30 range) for the quality you get – definitely worth it. Overall, Shokudo Ramen & Sushi is a great choice if you’re in the Paramus area and craving authentic, high-quality Japanese food. Highly recommended!

Newly opened restaurant on NJ-17, really nice place, they did an amazing job of creating a good ambiance, with hint of cherry blossom. The walls have different Japanese wallpapers and lots of Anime character dolls. We came for Sunday dinner, it wasn’t crowded. The menu has bunch of ramen, good options between pork, chicken and veggie broths. Lots of sushi/sashimi available as well. We ordered the chicken karaage and takoyaki for appetizers. Both were really good. Not over fried. Karaage came with red chili sauce. For entree, tried the Shio garlic ramen with chicken. It was good portion, good noodles, broth seemed creamy. Next time I have to try the spicy version. Cutlet was nicely cooked, not over fried. Also got the Eel Dragon roll. The plate was beautiful. Came with an extra salmon roll on the side. I liked the sushi more than the ramen. It was so well made. Had really good taste overall. Their service is excellent. Food came out really fast. Except summer roll, that takes some time to prepare, others came out within few minutes of ordering. There’s 5% discount for paying cash. Really good place to dine with family and friends.

Entering the place, the ambiance was very captivating. I love the color scheme! As we were being served, they were very accommodating with our requests (it wasn’t very complicated requests but it is a kind of request that not a lot can alter, which I understand of course. But it was great that they were very accommodating for sure!) The food is very delicious! It surpassed our expectations and we would highly recommend anyone and everyone to visit this place. We would definitely come back here!!!! Also, their ramen broth is made fresh everyday!
